There are no OT prophecies about Timothy
Paul says in 1 Tim.1:18, "This charge I
commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on
thee." Unfortunately, there are no Old Testament prophecies pertaining to,
or referring to, Timothy.
C Dennis McKinsey, EBE, p398.
There are no OT prophecies about Timothy. However Mr McKinsey has forgotten
that there is the NT office of prophet.
(1 Cor 12:28 NIV) And in the church God has
appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then
workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help
others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different
kinds of tongues.
(Eph 4:11-12 NIV) It was he who gave some to be
apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be
pastors and teachers, {12} to prepare God's people for works of service, so
that the body of Christ may be built up
Later Paul in the same letter refers to a specific time in Timothy's life
when he was given a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands
on him.
(1 Tim 4:14 NIV) Do not neglect your gift, which was given you
through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on
you.
