Eulogy to Alan Nairne (1931-2009) I knew Alan as a very dear brother in Christ from 1984-2009. From about 1993-1998 he used to water my garden when I went away on business trips. He used to be a Plymouth Brethren but he had an experience of the Spirit and he came out of that into a more charismatic flavour, later in his life he ministered in the Church of England as a lay reader. He was also the key to the inspiration for this web site of mine because in 1985 he lent me a set of tapes on Revelation by Malcolm Smith (which are transcribed on my articles page). It took seven years for this to germinate and in 1993 I started writing my commentary on Revelation which was just about finished in 1997. By then the Internet was getting established so I published my commentary on this site in 1998. He also started to contribute articles for my site from 2000-2007 and has written about 13 articles (see below). Tragically he died prematurely at 77 in Jan 2009. If Alan had not given me the set of tapes on Revelation then this site would not exist. Probably his most biographic essay is "The Spiritual Gifts of the Holy Spirit - Did They Cease When the Apostles Died?" He was a humble servant of our Lord.. I am glad to have his articles on my site as a tribute to him. "Blessed are those who die in the Lord", his labour was not in vain. Another semi-biographical essay is Is Todays Church "Worldly"? Alan, I love you in the Lord very much, you were a brother to me. I end in tears. Thanks for your love to me. It tells me of the unconditional love of Christ to me. How much Jesus loves us sinners. Your love was a true example. From you I first understood what grace meant..You tought me what grace meant, you are an example of grace.in the flesh. He is survived by a wife, daughter and adopted son. Prophecy essays by Alan Nairne (1931-2009)
