Whitehopleman
Industry wide Benchmarking A service measuring factory performance against the world-wide cement industry. Refractory Performance Information Sharing Cement companies obtain comparisons of the performance of refractories in peer group kilns. Supplier Training Tailored for suppliers to the cement industry HistoryWhitehopleman was formed by Dr Michael Clark after working for both producers and suppliers to the cement industry, for over 20 years. In this time Michael thought of many ideas for products and services that were needed, but not currently available. So in 1996 Whitehopleman was formed to provide innovative new solutions in all areas of the cement making process. This can range from optimising the performance of a mill or kiln, to company wide improvement of any aspect of performance, such as product quality or asset maintenance . Benchmarking, launched in 1998 was the first confidential independent service of its kind that the cement industry had ever seen. The service means that individual cement factories can be ranked across all areas of operation, by process group, against other factories from all over the world. The service is jointly run with International Cement Review and is proving popular with over 140 factories represented. Refractory performance comparisons is the second such confidential service to be launched by Whitehopleman. This service was requested by some of the benchmarking customers, who wish to improve the length of their kilns campaigns. Whitehopleman doesn't just help cement manufacturers. Many suppliers to the cement industry, large and small, also use the knowledge of Whitehopleman, usually in the areas of product development and marketing. The knowledge available in Whitehopleman, is particularly useful to suppliers to other industries who want to launch their products into the cement industry. Supplier training is also available. Three day or one day course are run, covering all aspects of cement manufacturing, including the machinery and equipment used in the process. The courses are slanted towards the products and services of the suppliers attending, and how they can be more successful in doing business with the cement industry. The feedback we have had so far is that it has proved invaluable for sales people and for product development as well. Whitehopleman Station House Grindleford Hope Valley S32 2JA UNITED
